Core Values of

Jordan Presbyterian Church

At Jordan Presbyterian we value a church culture that is:

Christ-centered - Christ, in his mercy, made mercy available to any who would come to him. Therefore no person or group of persons or ideas will be prioritized over our only Savior, Jesus Christ. He alone is worthy of our allegiance, since He is God from all eternity. Therefore, all that we say and do in our worship and work will be clearly focused on His glory and in harmony with His Word. (Philippians 3:7-8)

Humble - Because Christ has shown himself mighty and good in salvation we will humble ourselves to him in faith-based, grace-driven, kingdom-focused prayer. (Proverbs 3:34)

Honest - Because Christ already knew everything about us before we became Christians and decided to die for us anyway, we can be in a place of honest confession that we might give and receive the healing forgiveness He offers. (James 5:16)

Vibrant - Because we have a God who loves life we will live it to the full, following Christ's commands by the grace of the Holy Spirit and valuing the lives of others over our own. (John 10:10)

Accepting - Because Christ allowed us to "come as we are" we will invite and welcome others in the same manner. (Matthew 11:28-30, John 6:37, Romans 15:7)

Generous - In response to the grace that has been lavished on us through Christ Jesus we will give generously to Christ and our fellow man. With our time, talents, money, spiritual gifts and other resources we will be generous to extend Christ's Kingdom in Utah and around the world. (2 Corinthians 8:1-7, Ephesians1:6-8)

Outgoing - As another expression of our generosity we will be un-apologetically evangelistic. We will offer the grace of Christ to our neighbors in our worship services as well as in our daily interactions with others, giving them opportunities to respond. (Revelation 5:9, Matthew 13)

Educational - Because our Christ continues to teach us, we will seek to be a center of Christian Education for ourselves and our neighbors, a group of people from whom they can learn the truth about Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:9-10)

Expressive - Because God pursued us with a passion we will be a place of passion. We are a place where people will be free to express themselves openly (within the parameters of Biblical expression), without fear of reprimand. Laughter and tears, celebration and mourning will be welcome. (Philippians 4:4, Romans 12:15)

Expanding - Because God sent His Son into the world, and because others cannot hear without someone being sent to them, we will be ever seeking to start new churches, as the Lord enables to the end of planting a PCA Presbytery in Utah and extending his kingdom throughout the world. (Matthew 28:19-20)
